ABOUT

What is the Supermileage Engineering Challenge?

The Super Mileage Engineering Challenge is an annual competition for high schools throughout Indiana. The objective of the competition is to build a car with the highest possible fuel economy. The Super Mileage Engineering Challenge is sponsored by Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA). The Indiana Super Mileage Committee sanctions the event. Prior to the competition, the team must submit a design proposal and safety plan. This challenge provides opportunities for teamwork, problem-solving, design, fabrication, web development, and business planning. All funding for our extracurricular club is gained by students through our sponsors.

The Benton Central Supermileage Challenge was started in 2010 by faculty advisors Scott Robertson and John Weitlauf.
